Government has set up an Electronic Media Monitoring Centre (EMMC) to monitor content telecast on private TV channels. Task of EMMC is to report any violation of programme and advertising codes. The above stated information was provided in Lok Sabha by Minister of state for information and broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Rathore.

This compensation comes from cess (on top of the highest tax rate of 28 %) on luxury, demerit and sin goods.
