Which posts are available under the IBPS PO 2017 recruitment?

The IBPS PO exam 2017, recruits for the post of a Probationary Officer ( PO ). The candidates are on a 2 year probation period after getting selected. They’re given intensive training to help them gain knowledge. After completion of the probation period, a screening test is conducted. Post this, candidates are posted as ‘Assistant Managers’.

When will the exam  be conducted?

  • Preliminary Exam : 7th, 8th, 14th & 15th October 2017
  • Main Exam : 26th November 2017

How many vacancies will be there?
The number of vacancies announced in variable. It depends upon the number of banks participating in the recruitment drive. Last year, 8820 vacancies were announced.

Is the exam bilingual?
Yes. All tests except the test of English language are available in both English and Hindi.

What is the eligibility criteria for IBPS PO exam?

  • AGE : candidate must be between 20-30 years
  • DEGREE : candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university.

Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government guidelines. As per previous notifications:-

  • SC – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • PWD – 10 years
  • Ex-serviceman – 5 years
  • Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 – 5 years
  • Persons affected by 1984 riots – 5 years

IBPS PO FAQ2Does the IBPS PO have any minimum percentage requirements at the degree level?

No. For this exam there is no minimum marks criterion. Those who are in the final year of Graduation/Semester may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination.

Is there an application fee? How much?

  • Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
  • Rs. 600 /- for all others

What is the selection process?

The selection is done in three stages:-

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Exam
  • Interview

For how long the score provided by the IBPS stay valid? 
1 year only. The exam scores are valid only for the same year’s recruitment process.
What is the cut-off for being recruited?
There are no fixed cut-offs. The numbers depend on the performance of the candidates each year.

Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
Yes. There sectional cut-offs are present in the exam.
