Cash Worth and Achievements:

  • Nair received a  $  50,000  college  scholarship  and  a  lifetime  membership  in  the National Geographic Society
  • Fifth consecutive  year  that  an  Indian ­ American  has  won  the prestigious  national  tournament

Runner up: Saketh Jonnalagadda, Eighth-grader 14 age student, from Massachusetts

  • Awarded cash worth of the $25,000  college  scholarship

Third place: Kapil Nathan, a 12 year old Sixth ­ Grader from Alabama

  • Awarded cash worth of the $10,000 college scholarship
  • The seven other finalists each won $500
