  1. Statements: All stems are trees. No tree is a plant. Some plants are roots
    Conclusions:
    I. Some trees are stems
    II. Some roots are not trees
    (E) both 1st and 2nd
    Explanation:

    All roots can never be trees. Because if all roots are trees, then some trees will be plants which is not possible (No tree is a house).
    All roots are trees is not a possibility, so Some roots are not trees follows.

  2. Statements: All reds are greens. No greens are blues. No greens are whites.
    Conclusions:
    I. Some whites are not reds
    II. Some reds are not blues
    (E) both 1st and 2nd
    Explanation:

    All whites are reds is not a possibility. So Some whites are not reds follows. Same with second conclusion.

  3. Statements: All pencils are pens. All pencils are pins. Some pencils are sharpeners.
    Conclusions:
    I. Some pens are not sharpeners.
    II. Some dustres are not sharpeners.

    Explanation:

    There is a possibility that all pens are sharpeners. So Some pens are not sharpeners do not follow. Same with second conclusion.

    Conclusions:
    I. Some tigers are not lions.
    II. No tigers are rats.

    There is a possibility that all tigers are lions. So Some tigers are not lions do not follow.

    Conclusions:
    I. Some fonts are reviews
    II. All views being styles is a possibility

    Explanation:

    Since there is no negative statement, so a possibility conclusion occurs.

  7. Statements: Some reds are blue. All blue is black. Some black is yellow.
    Conclusions:
    I. Some reds are black
    II. Some yellow is not black

    All yellow being black is a possibility so, Some yellow is not black does not follow

  8. Statements: Some pens are pencils. All pens are erasers. No eraser is a duster.
    Conclusions:
    I. No pen is a duster
    II. Some pencils are erasers.

    If some pens are duster, then some erasers will be duster which is not possible as per 3rd statement.
