Here we are providing you with the detailed syllabus & exam pattern for both preliminary and main examination of SBI Clerk. Both Preliminary and Main Examination will have separate timing for every section.

Selection Procedure:

The selection process will consist of on-line test (preliminary & main examination) and test of specified opted local language.

SBI Clerk 2018: Prelims Exam Pattern

Phase-I : Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

SBI Clerk 2018: Main Exam Pattern

Phase-II : Main Examination: The structure of the main examination (online objective type) would be as follows :

LPT:

The Local Language Test is qualifying in nature. Those who have studied the official (local) language at 10th level and have proof as a certificate, will not have to give the local language test. If not so, you will be required to take a language test which will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining.

Major Changes:

Preliminary:

  • The sectional timing has been introduced in the Prelims.
  • There will be no sectional & overall cut off in SBI Clerk Prelims 2018.
  • An adequate number of students in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the no. of vacancies, subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Mains Exam from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored in prelims.

Mains:

  • No sectional cut off in the Mains.
  • Those who qualify the Mains will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective states & categories.
  • The Marks obtained in Prelims will not be added in the final merit list. Only the marks obtained in Mains will be added to prepare the final merit list.

General Awareness/Financial Awareness

The syllabus for this section remains vast

The topics included are

  • Banking/Financial terms
  • Current Affairs – covers every current news including related to the banking industry, latest appointments, obituaries, awards and honors, books and authors, new schemes of central and state governments, sports, etc.
  • Static GK – topics like headquarters of financial organizations , Country-capital, country-currency, constituencies of ministers, dance forms, nuclear and thermal power stations, Superlatives of World and India, First in India & World, Places with surname, Palaces, International Lines/Boundaries, Important Monuments of India & World, Rivers, Parliament names of different countries, Important Temples, National Parks,Airports, Wildlife Sanctuary, Stadium, Important Days,memorial place / crematorium, etc.,
