The Indian Film Festival Melbourne 2016 kick started at Melbourne Recital Centre, Australia. The function glitters with full of guests flowed in belonging to not only Australian Film Industry but also Pakistan industry.
- This year, the festival has screened a variety of films, features, shorts and documentaries in 17 languages. Around 50 films are shortlisted for the festival.
- The theme for this year 2016 is ‘Women Empowerment’. Angry India Goddesses, will bring the curtains down for the festival.

- Diversity Award for Contribution in Indian Cinema – Fawad Khan
- Indian Film Festival Excellence in Cinema Award(lifetime achievement award) – Rishi Kapoor
Indian Film Festival of Melbourne:
- The IFFMwas established in 2012 is a Victorian Government initiative that aims to strengthen ties between the India and Victoria in the film Industry.
- The festival is organised by Film Victoria and the State Government of Victoria, and produced by Mind Blowing Films, a Melbourne-based distributor of Indian cinema across Australia and New Zealand.
- Bollywood actress VidyaBalan is the ambassador for the Indian Film Festival Melbourne.
