Legendary classical vocalist Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj has been conferred with the Sumitra Charat Ram Award 2014 for Lifetime Achievement.
Pandit Jasraj has been awarded with a number of titles, including Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.
Sumitra Charat Ram Award
The award was instituted in 2011 to honor stalwarts in art and was named after Sumitra Charat Ram who founded the Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra in 1952.
She played a key role in the revival of performing arts, especially Kathak in the post-independence era, with the establishment of Kathak Kendra.
